The waiting is the hardest part, because we’ve gotten a taste of something from a dream, but now we know the role of patience and acceptance. Acceptance is the waiting, the patient endurance of the hard work that true recovery, that life requires.

I don’t think that Chris wanted to die, but he seems to have accepted it as his fate given the circumstances and his note. I think at long last he finally found the salve to his brokenness and disconnect. By sitting with himself in nature, having the time to reflect on his life and the people in it, he doesn’t feel alone anymore.

Acceptance is the answer to all my problems today.

Something for Sundays - Sept 24

‘Let Me Drown’ is a farewell song that is dark in its despair, but it contains a glimmer of hope.

That’s what this movie is essentially about. By stifling it or trying to avoid it, we turn the part of “us” that scares us into the enemy without realizing that we are the monsters we’ve villainized. We create horror.

Keep you head up, keep your love

We don’t realize we’re diving down.

In desperate situations, people are always encouraging you to have hope. I’d never been told to just let go of hope completely.
